The HRD minister is also planning to meet the heads of other government funded educational institutes
Union Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar will soon meet the directors of the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). The meeting which will take place next month will explore issues such as the qualitative improvement of management education in India, new avenues for financing of IIMs and the global perception of Indian institutions.
"The HRD minister will be meeting Directors of various IIMs soon and it is expected that a range of issues from quality of education to building best infrastructure will be discussed," a senior official stated.
The HRD minister is also planning to meet the heads of other government funded educational institutions soon. These meetings are being conducted in the backdrop of the formulation of the government’s New Education Policy 2016 (NEP 2016).
The official added, "It has been planned that in the coming days the minister would be interacting with various Vice Chancellors of Central Universities, NITs, Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) etc."
Javadekar also met the heads of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) recently
"There are a range of issues from quality, affordability, global standings to making education affordable and accessible. It is expected that these sessions will be brainstorming sessions and new ideas will emanate," stated officials.
