A proposal to increase the student intake for its PGP has been forwarded to MHRD
Indian Institute of Management Ahmadabad (IIM Ahmadabad) is poised to increase the number of students it admits every year for its post graduate programme. The Ministry of Human resource Development has already received a proposal from IIM Ahmadabad regarding the same and will give its assent soon. The premier management institute has also request MHRD for an increase in the funds allocated to the institute.
Speaking to the media Professor Ashish Nanda, Director, IIM Ahmadabad, stated, "We sent a proposal a while ago to MHRD to expand capacity of our PG programme with a request for capital support for expansion. Exact numbers and dates are not important at this stage."
He added, "It is our desire and willingness to expand the program that matters, provided we have support to build the required physical infrastructure."
The Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar will soon be meeting the heads of all the IIMs soon. Sources revealed that a decision on IIM Ahmadabad’s proposal will be taken at the meeting.
