Intel India has added a digital literacy program with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology in support of the Digital India initiative. The two institutes will work together to enhance e-governance, education, innovation and to drive inclusive growth according to the MoU which is a part of the digital literacy program that aims to make one member of each house hold digitally literate.
NIELIT is creating a course aimed at skill development in the ESDM sector for 15000 people in every state. This is being don eunder the Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) policy.
Intel will help with the ESDM content and support content creation and promote the program. The company will also aid in certification and the assessment portal for the digital literacy program.
Debjani Ghosh, VP, Sales and Marketing Group, MD, Intel South Asia stated to the media “This collaboration is a true demonstration of the government’s vision of fostering strong public private partnerships under the ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ philosophy to realize the dream of a Digital India.”
