The BBC will also promote coding and digital technology through its shows, dramas and documentaries
The BBC will be launching an education project in 2015 called Make it Digital. The project will focus on inspiring a new generation to pursue coding, programming and digital technology.
Project controller Jessica Cecil stated to the press "We face a technology skills gap. The potential for this country’s future is as rich as our past but there are dangers. Right now many of our youngsters are lacking the digital skills they need. The BBC will celebrate the UK's digital heritage, raise awareness, and help some people to take their first steps into the world of digital. We will also help the younger generation to see their creative potential in it."
The BBC will promote coding and digital technology through its shows. Dramas and documentaries, as well as online resources will also be channelled into technology education.
