3 Colleges win Schneider Electric Innovation Challenge

The winning teams have been awarded cash prize of Rs 3,00,000, Rs 2,00,000 and Rs 1,50,000 respectively.


 

SSN College of Engineering, Chennai has won the Innovation Challenge 2011 followed by Sastra University as 1st Runner Up and PSG College of Technology, Coimbatoreas 2nd Runner Up. The winning teams have been awarded cash prize of  Rs 3,00,000, Rs 2,00,000 and Rs 1,50,000 respectively.
These teams  have won the Innovation Challenge 2011 for their prototypes - “Effectuation Of Bio Prosthetis Limb using Electro- Oculography” presented by SSN College of Engineering, “Production of Carbon Nano Tubes From Industrial Exhaust” presented by Sastra University and “Kinetic Energy Recovery System in Bicycle” presented by PSG College of Technology.
Innovation Challenge by Schneider Electric is a unique platform for engineering colleges to have their best students showcase “out of the box” ideas that contribute to meeting the disparate needs of society. This year’s Innovation Challenge contest was based on the theme: “JUST INNOVATE”. Innovation Challenge is a national initiative by Schneider Electric and this is the seventh year of participation. This year over 80 of engineering colleges across India participated.
