AICTE to set up 50 research centres with corporate houses

50 prominent institutes will be identified for setting up such research centres in first phase.


All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will soon set up centres for academic research in some of the top technical institutions in the country in partnership with corporate houses. Under the plan, students and teachers will jointly take part in research projects.
Chairman of AICTE- SS Mantha said, “In the first phase, 50 prominent institutes will be identified for setting up such research centres. The council and industries will fund for these centres. While, the institutes will provide infrastructure and space for it.”
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is the statutory body and a national-level council for technical education, under Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development.
