India's first astronaut Rakesh Sharma will share his valuable experiences with the students of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A). Sharma will be a part of three-day event ‘Confluence-2011’, starting from November 25. The theme for Confluence 2011, “Fostering Change, Championing Excellence”, is conceptualized on the evolution of post-modern India.
‘Confluence 2011’ seeks to bring engaging and intellectually charged speeches and panel discussions from eminent speakers on a common platform to address the need for excellence as a future road map. On this occasion, IIM students will be allowed to have words with the great astronaut.
Besides Rakesh Sharma, former chief election commissioner, JM Lyngdoh will also give an overall learning experience to the students during the event. It may be mentioned here that IIM Ahmedabad first hosted its Annual International Business Summit – ‘Confluence’ in 1999. It is India's second oldest B-school festival behind IIM Calcutta's ‘Intaglio’ which started in 1989.
Over the years, ‘Confluence’ has attracted participation from the business schools in India as well as abroad. It hosts events from all the standard arenas of Management - Finance, Marketing, Strategy, Entrepreneurship and IT and Operations. It provides a platform to budding managers to apply their skills in various games and events organized during the meet.
