BITS to Start Degree Programmes for Lupin Employees
23 November 2009

Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) and pharmaceutical major Lupin, are collaborating to start degree programmes for the employees of Lupin at Mumbai.

The off-campus centre at Lupin's Mumbai office is a part of the BITS Work Integrated Learning Programmes. Through this programme BITS provides educational modules leading to specific degrees to meet human resource development needs of industries.

This programme will offer the employees of Lupin an opportunity to enhance their academic qualification, synergise theory with practice on a sustained basis, be multi-skilled with exposure to upcoming technological areas, appreciate key management concepts, participate better in organisational initiatives and provide meaningful insights.

Lupin will provide the infrastructural facilities and logistical support for the programme. It will also provide support with resource persons from Lupin to participate in the academic and pedagogic aspects of the programme, wherever necessary.

These programmes will have the same rigour and standards as those offered on-campus, and will be equivalent to the corresponding degrees offered on-campus.

A coordination committee consisting of the Vice Chancellor BITS as chairman, and two nominees each from BITS and Lupin will monitor the academic and research programmes and all related operational matters.
