Calcutta University signs MoU with Glasgow University

The University of Calcutta has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Glasgow, Scotland to enhance academic and cultural collaboration. The pact will help to provide financial assistance to those who cannot afford the study cost in the West.
Along with student and faculty exchange, the agreement will also help in collaborative research projects, lectures and symposia on various subjects.
The vice chancellor of University of Calcutta- Suranjan Das said, "This is the age of collaborations and MoUs. We already have relations with Glasgow but this agreement will provide a formal colour to that relation and the mutual cooperation will benefit both the universities."
It may be mentioned here that University of Glasgow, founded in 1451, is the fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world. Students from around 120 countries worldwide are studying in the University in various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
