Former SEBI chairman, CB Bhave is set to take over as the new Executive Chairperson of the The Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) Board. He takes over from the eminent urbanist Shirish Patel.
Bhave was the Chairman of capital markets regulator - Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) from 2008 to 2011. He was also the founding Chairman and Managing Director of the National Securities Depository (NSDL), that handles most of the securities held and settled in dematerialised form in the Indian capital market.
The list of promoters at IIHS includes names like Nandan Nilekani, Deepak Parekh, Cyrus Guzder, Jamshyd Godrej, Nasser Munjee, Deepak Satwalekar, Kishore Mariwala, Rahul Mehrotra, Rakesh Mohan, Renana Jhabvala, Shirish Patel, Vijay Kelkar, Xerxes Desai and Aromar Revi.
The Indian Institute for Human Settlements is a national education institution aimed at the equitable tranformation of Indian settlements. It is an inter-disciplinary national University for Research and Innovation that focuses on its ongoing urban and development transformation. It is a first-of-its-kind, learning, research, practice and innovation-oriented knowledge initiative.
