Even after the declaration of the Common Entrance Test (CET) on May 30, the issue of government quota seats in engineering colleges still persists.
At a meeting chaired by Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. For poor students whose family income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh per annum and who have raknks up to 25,000, the fee will be Rs 30,000, said Higher Education Minister V.S. Acharya. The government will pay the remaining Rs 5,000 to the colleges.
This is the second consecutive year in which the fee has been raised. It was Rs 30,000 in 2010.
