DU and DRDO signs MoU

University of Delhi has signed a memorandum of understanding with Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The aim of MoU is to enhance academic interaction and R&D collaboration between the two organizations.
The vice-chancellor of Delhi University- Prof Dinesh Singh described it as a Red Letter day in the history of University of Delhi as DRDO is a place where country’s best minds work to develop technologies to defend the country.
Mentioning about the University’s newly set-up “Cluster Innovation Centre” Prof Singh described it as a program that is going to change the way students learn. He said, “Students get a glow on their faces whenever there is a talk of getting an opportunity to work in DRDO.”
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is responsible for the development of technology for use by the military. The organization includes more than 5,000 scientists and about 25,000 other scientific, technical and supporting personnel. It has a network of 52 laboratories which are deeply engaged in developing defence technologies covering various fields, like aeronautics, armaments, electronic and computer sciences.
