Five Indian Institutions in QS World University Rankings for Social Science

The institutes include the IITs at Delhi, Kanpur and Kharagpur, Indian Statistical Institute and JNU


QS, the UK-based education network, has recently released 2011 QS World University rankings for social sciences in which five Indian institutions have been featured in the top 200 institutions in the world. These institutions include – Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD), Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK), Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IITKGP), Indian Statistical Institute and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

JNU appeared in the bottom 50 for politics and international studies and IITD, IITK, IITKGP and Indian Statistical Institute for statistics.

The QS World University Rankings by Subject are the first to rank universities for individual subjects in the world. They are based on academic and employer reputation and citations per paper.
