IGNOU to honour Dalai Lama

The university will confer an honorary doctor of letters degree on the Tibetan spiritual leader next month


The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will confer an honorary doctor of letters degree on Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama at its 24th convocation next month.

"His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be awarded the degree of doctor of letters (Honoris Causa)," a varsity official said.

More than one lakh students from across the country will receive their degrees at the occasion.
