Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a new user-friendly website with easy access to regional centres. Inaugurating the new website, the vice-chancellor of University- M. Aslam said, "The site has a unified structure and common format unlike earlier when the regional centre websites were having different formats."
He informed that the Universities of Berkley and Maryland in US have shown interest in faculty exchange with IGNOU. The VC also added that university will start more career oriented professional courses in near future.
IGNOU has its presence in 43 countries. The university, which started with two courses and 4,000 students in 1985, has evolved into one of the world's largest varsities. It has now over three million students on its roll.
