IIIT to come up in Tripura

Union ministrer for Human Right Development- Kapil Sibal has assured that the government will take necessary steps to ensure a new IIIT.


 

An elite institute- Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) will come up in northeastern state- Tripura. Union ministrer for Human Right Development- Kapil Sibal has assured that the government will take necessary steps to ensure a new IIIT in the state under 12th Five year plan.
Talking to reporters, Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Sarkar said that he had urged union government for setting up an information technology institutes or management institute. Considering his demand, government has given green signal for IIIT.
Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) are a group of four institutes of higher education in the country, focused on information technology. They are established by the central government, centrally funded and managed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. Presently, four IIIT's are delivering engineering education to students in Allahabad, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Kancheepuram.
