IIM-C to Enter Global Finance Markets for Research

The institute will use the special budgetary grant of Rs 20 crore from Central government to do research in global finance markets and to upgrade its financial research and trading laboratory


The Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta (IIM-C) will be utilising the Rs 20 crore special budgetary grant announced by Finance Minsiter Pranab Mukherjee in the Union Budget 2011-12 to help its students do research in global finance markets and to upgrade its financial research and trading laboratory.

"The money will help us make our financial research and trading laboratory world-class. The fund will also help students for further research in global finance markets," said Ashok Banerjee, professor of finance and head of the laboratory.

The laboratory was set up in November 2008 to support advanced applied research and to equip finance managers with mathematical and conceptual theories.
