As per the proposed plan to be executed from November, IIM-R experts would select a group of Panchyat delegates and primary school teachers to kick-start the innovative training programme on business management, which essentially revolves around rural economy. “The module has been prepared in a way to make the youths utilise their skills to create job and investment opportunities in the field of agriculture, dairy and small forest production,” said IIM-R Director MJ Xavier.

Apart from training youths, the institute will also draw a vision to reform education from primary to higher education levels, to enable them comprehend the basics of governance and business together. Officials said the new idea behind the reform is to ease the problem for unemployment particularly in rural areas, which often make the youths straying on to the path of violence.

The special module of the IIM-R envisages building of a team of barefoot managers, who could guide the educated youths to develop job opportunities in the area of agriculture, dairy, poultry and forestry.

The institute will also prepare a policy framework for the state government to pave way for infrastructural development in rural areas. This will also help the government create conducive atmosphere for attracting huge investments from big companies.
