The President of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and member of Parliament, Dr Karan Singh has been conferred with Doctor of Literature (D Litt) by Kathmandu University. During the convocation function of University, Prime Minister and Chancellor of the university Baburam Bhattarai felicitated him the title.
He said that this is an era of science and technology and students should use their talent in an effective way so that the country could be benefited with their innovations. He said that the budding scholars should work on the requirement of the people.
It may be mentioned here that Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) was founded in 1950 by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, independent India’s first Education Minister. The Council helps formulate and implement policies pertaining to India’s external cultural relations, to foster mutual understanding between India and other countries and to promote cultural exchanges with other peoples.
