Manipal University Partners with Radio One to Launch MBA Programme

The tie up will facilitate industry-academia co-operation


Manipal University has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Radio One Limited, a joint venture with Next Media works and BBC worldwide, to add value to media and entertainment industry and to provide expertise to media management students.

Radio One will provide academic training, infrastructure and networking links with the industry to fulfil the educational needs of the students. Students pursuing MBA in Media & Entertainment will have the option of pursuing the fourth semester of the programme with specialization in Radio Broadcasting and Management with Radio One at their stations in seven cities – Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune and Ahmedabad.


Vineet Singh Hukmani, Managing Director Radio One Limited, said, “Through this partnership, students will discover the speed and innovation at which Radio One business operates. Learning this will set them apart when they have to face real life challenges in the media space.”

We are sure this association will pave the way to many active collaborative engagements that will benefit the media (broadcast) industry.”


During their two-year full-time MBA programme in Media & Entertainment, students can specialise in radio or film in the fourth semester. The first three semesters will be conducted in Manipal University’s Bangalore Campus, covering all General Management subjects and media & entertainment case studies. The fourth semester of the programme will be conducted at various industry organizations and radio students can choose to train at Radio One campuses across India. They will be exposed to live projects and acquire practical assistance. This will include actual production and post-productions techniques, understanding Radio Broadcast and other sectors of media & entertainment.
