In order to encourage medical research and teaching, Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi (MAMC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Edinburgh, Britain.

The tie up between the MAMC and the University of Edinburgh will help both the Universities to work together on clinical and non-clinical research programmes. The pact will also help students and teaching staff to share their experiences and ideas.

Giving this information, Delhi Health Minister AK Walia said that the aim behind the collaboration between the two universities is to promote such research programmes which are helpful for common man of the society.

It may be mentioned here that the University of Edinburgh, founded in 1583, is a world-renowned centre for teaching and research. While, Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi (MAMC) is a top ten medical institution of the country.

MAMC is a government medical college in Delhi affiliated to University of Delhi. It offers the degrees of MBBS, post graduate degrees of MS, MD and Super Specialty degrees of MCh and DM. It has attached schools offering degrees in nursing and pharmacy.
