NIIT Starts its First One World Centre in Coimbatore

The centre will provide training in IT, banking and finance, management and business process outsourcing


NIIT Limited, a global talent development corporation has announced the launch of its first NIIT One World Centre in Coimbatore. The centre will serve as a one-stop destination for providing quality training to students and professionals across multiple domains including IT, Banking and Finance, Management and Business Process Outsourcing.

The centre was launched by G. Raghavan, Chief Executive- Career Building Solutions, NIIT Ltd. World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand and Dr E. Balagurusamy, former Vice Chancellor of Anna University, Chennai, and former Member of Union Public Service Commission were also present at the occasion.

NIIT plans to establish more of such centres in the years to come. These will be equipped with state-of-the-art labs and infrastructure and will enable hands-on practice, collaborative learning and comprehensive job-readiness.

The courses on offer are industry-endorsed programmes for students seeking careers in IT - the flagship GNIIT programme, the Edgeineers series of short-term technology courses and Global Net Plus programmes in networking. Students can also join banking programmes offered by Institute of Finance, Banking and Insurance, a NIIT-ICICI Bank joint venture. For working professionals, executive management education programmes in association with leading management institutes such as IIM Kolkata and executive MBA programme from IGNOU will be available.

Viswanathan Anand said, "Winning and becoming a champion in one's career starts with world-class training. Therefore, making the right choice is all the more critical for today's youth. NIIT has made it convenient for career aspirants by bringing many options under one roof and facilitating counselling to enable them to take the right decision."

G. Raghavan said, "NIIT One World will bring all the cutting-edge career building solutions from NIIT under one roof. This will enable the youth to evaluate various career options at one go, and choose the course most suitable to them."
