President Calls for Abolition of Ragging in HEIs

Pratibha Patil said that ragging should be eliminated in all educational institutions including the IITs and IIMs


Speaking at a seminar attended by the vice chancellors of several central varsities, directors of Indian Institutes of Technology, Indian Institutes of Management and others, Patil called for completely eliminating the menace of ragging.

"There is a need to create zero tolerance to the reprehensible and hideous practice of ragging. The menace of ragging, which has been vitiating the educational atmosphere, needs to be completely eliminated," she said.

Patil also said that she was sure that these premier educational institutions would work towards it with all sincerity.
