The concept will help students in increasing their attendance and performance

Panjab University (PU) is starting mobile and e-learning classes for candidates who are enrolled in its distance learning programmes.

Distance e-learning will be introduced with a diploma programme in statistics at the University School of Open Learning, wherein students will be taught from a mobile van using latest technology.

“Everything will be online. The subject expert responsible for the lectures will be stationed at the PU campus, who will address students’ queries online. For the time being, we are introducing this concept for one subject in Ludhiana only. We will introduce similar programmes at different locations and with other subjects later,” said Programme Co-ordinator, Professor Ravi K. Mahajan.

Students enrolled in distance learning have to attend on-campus classes for a week. But many outstation students skip classes due to long distances. The concept of e-learning will help them increase their attendance and improve results.
