Rs 40 Cr action plan for J&K colleges
Under the plan, infrastructure development will be carried on in 74 government degree colleges across the state

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir government has approved a Rs 40 crore action plan for strengthening infrastructure of Degree colleges in the state.
The project is a part of the Special Plan Assistance (SPA) of Rs 100 crore approved by the Central Government for the purpose.
The Plan envisages upgradation of existing infrastructure with addition of critical requirements in the degree colleges.
The plan has been formulated keeping in view the recommendations of the National Accredited Assessment Committee (NAAC).
Approving the Action Plan, the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah directed the officials to complete the works during the current financial year and as per the allocations made for each work.
Under the Action Plan infrastructure development will be carried on in 74 government degree colleges across the state focusing on various requirements in the each educational institution.
Omar Abdullah also released Rs. 45 crores to be utilised by the School Education Department under SPA through a similar action plan.
