TN University to get foreign language labs

The higher education department has invited proposals from 14 prominent universities of the state


The state universities in Tamil Nadu will soon have foreign language labs. This will help students to learn English, French, German and Chinese, among other foreign languages.
The higher education department has invited proposals from 14 prominent universities of the state including the University of Madras, Anna University and Madurai Kamaraj University.  Department has proposed to set up smart classrooms with video conferencing facilities, a curriculum development cell, entrepreneurship-cum-skill development centre, foreign language laboratories and visits by foreign faculty.
The Vice-Chancellor of Madras University- G Thiruvasagam said, "These initiatives will help us to update our curriculum to make it more application oriented. The foreign language laboratories will help students improve communication skills, while visits by foreign faculty will help our campuses become globalised."
