UK based University for Creative Arts (UCA) has joined hands with India’s MIT Institute of Design to offer fashion courses. Under this agreement, Indian students will be able to study the same courses of fashion design and management that are offered at UCA. These courses will start from July 2012.
The vice-chancellor of UCA- Dr Simon Ofield-Kerr said, "This is an extremely important understanding that offers exciting potential for student exchanges and research collaborations."
The executive director of MIT Institute of Design- Dr Sunil Karad said, "The fashion industry in India has seen rapid growth in recent years and fashion graduates are very much in demand. He informed that both universities have planned to develop postgraduate courses together.
The University for the Creative Arts was established in 2005. It is a large art and design institute with around 7,000 students. It offers courses in a very wide range of art, design, fashion and architecture subjects.
