VC of Devi Ahilyabai Vishwa Vidyalaya resigns

The chancellor asked Professor Raj Kamal to take charge as Acting Vice-Chancellor.


 

Professor PK Mishra, the vice-chancellor of Indore based Devi Ahilyabai Vishwa Vidyalaya (DAVV) has resigned from his post. His resignation has been accepted by the Chancellor and Governor of Madhya Pradesh Ram Naresh Yadav.
He was appointed the vice-chancellor of DAVV on June 29, 2010. Before joining the varsity, Prof Mishra had headed the management department at the Barkatullah University in Bhopal.
Although Professor Mishra refused to disclose reasons for his resignation, colleagues close to him claimed that he was unhappy with persistent non-cooperation of university staff.
According to information, the chancellor has asked DAVV Rector, Professor Raj Kamal to take charge as Acting Vice-Chancellor.
