NRI doctors initiated to support Medical University in MP

Doctors of Indian origin, especially those who have received medical education in MP, have invited state education minister Mahendra Hardia and Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr DP Lokvani to attend a five day function at Carelia in US.

In a rare gesture towards medical education, a group of Non-resident Indian doctors (NRI) have initiated to assist Madhya Pradesh government to develop and expand states first medical university. Doctors have invited state education minister Mahendra Hardia and Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr DP Lokvani to attend a five day function at Carelia in US.
Doctors of Indian origin, especially those who have received medical education in MP, would attend the function. The two-sessions of the function would discuss ways and means as to how these doctors can help in development of the medical university in the state. Even the expenditure on the visit of minister and VC would be borne by the NRI doctors.
The state government has established a Medical University last year, at Jabalpur to promote health education in the state. The vice-chancellor and registrar have been appointed and requisite posts sanctioned for the university that would start conducting MBBS examinations from next academic session.
